The Twin-Brother

The Twin-Brother
( Phakhawam KlukRak Phrakob Mee Hu )

Featuring my LAST COLLECTION of late Than Kong’s Phakhawam. It’s the last collection and it won’t be any of Than Kong’s Phakhawam after this posting. The last Than Kong’s stuffs that owned by me indeed.
I’m calling this sharing of the last collection as TWIN BROTHER as the feature Phakhawam are from the SAME……...
SAME phim & neur,
SAME creator & owner.
These TWIN-BROTHER phakhawam were obtained from my mother side late Great Aunt – OII KIM LUAN @ KOR POR TULI  ( Hearing Impaired Great Aunt ) ). My late Great Aunt shared the same biological mother with my late grandfather GAN AH ANN from traditional Siamese settlements called ”Too-Wa”@ Kampung Mentua ( Near to Pengkalan Kubur ) and “Bor-Gor” ( Thai’s border district) by local Tumpat old folks.
After marrying a Chinese immigrant who worked in Kuala Kusial estate, my late Kor Por Tuli  ( Great Aunt ) moved to the estate and stayed at the cowboy town in Kuala Kusial – next to Gullimark Bridge.
Originally it was TWIN ( in 2 pieces ). The TWIN PHAKHAWAM were given to my late Great Aunt by late Than Kong when she was in Bangsek. My Great Aunt resided in Wat Bangsek for at least 3-4 years after she was casted @ spelled with black magic by Malay folk because of the land dispute after her husband passed away. She was then been ABANDONDED by her son who worked as a teacher in KL. She went to Batu 3 and sought help from Than Kong.
Great Aunt stayed in Batu 3  before be ordained as a MaeChi together with her friends. Great Aunt said Than Kong presented one piece of Phakhawan each to her and two of her friends. After leaving Batu 3, my Great Aunt went to meet her friends and requested the 2 pieces of phakhawan and they gave 1 piece to her without any hesitation. So, my late aunt owned 2 of this phim. That's why i named this phakawam as Twin-Brother. WEI, KALU KOR POR AKU TIPU AKU, AKU PUN TIPU LA. PUOK2 MUM HOK DUK GILO BACO BLOG AKU PUN KENO TIPU LA ! Hahahahahaha !
Late Oii Kim Luan’s Potret
All the TWIN were kept on Than Nadam’s Bucha lap by late Great Aunt in her house in Kuala Kusial.  After 7 days of the demised of my Great Aunt in 1989, my elder sister went to her house to CLAIM all the Phra Kreung & Kreung Lang that previously promised by late Kor Por to give all of them to my elder sister. There’re minor tussled and disagreement between my late Kor Por, land lord's mrs, and my aunt's son regarding her last will.
All the Phra Kreung & Kreung Lang were then handed over to my elder sister. Lots of them, to be honest ! Most of them are from Batu 3, Pauh Lima, Bor Mek and Jong Kao, the common diction used by my late Great Aunt whenever she wanna refer to the Bangsek,  Ariyakiri,  Phikulthong  and Jubakar  temples. Perhaps to most of the senior collectors, still using the same diction whenever we are referring to the specific temples. Even the Kelantan and Southern Malay old folks will use the same names whenever they are referring to the TOK RAJA a.k.a MONKS from such KETIK a.k.a THAI TEMPLES.
Back to the main discussion, just to mention some of Batu 3 stuff inherited from my Great Aunt. There’re twin phakhawan, 4 pieces Than Kong hand written phayants, bone ashes takrut, seepheung, 14 segments takrut and etc.
When these twin-bro reached home ( Din Daeng – Tanah Merah ), my elder sister showed it to all of us and I personally asked for and grabbed those all the twin phakhawan but my sister rooked back one of it and gave me only 1 piece. Frankly, in 80’s Than Kong’s phakhawan isn’t has much value as today. Not many know about Than Kong’s phakhawan. You can get Than kong’s phakhawan for only few hundreds to single thousand of RM, perhaps can get it for free if you are lucky enough.
The only 1 left of the Twin Brother
As I said in the earlier posting. It WON’T BE any close-up photos for ALL MY FUTURE BLOG POSTINGS stuffs ! As it might spark the unnecessary arguments, hatred, and confusion among Than Kong’s die-hard fans and experts. The most important thing is, there’s won’t be any hard feelings comments regarding my stuff. So that, there’s…..…..
No more KAE !  ( fake in Kelantanese’s Hokkien )
No more BOM ! ( to indicate fake in Kelantanese’s dialect )
No more LOCAL ! ( to indicate fake in Kelantanese’s dialect )
No more SOTONG ! ( comparison to indicate the fake amulets )
No more KE LAUT ! ( diction to indicate rubbish amulets and shouldn’t be kept )
No more TIMBANG KILO ! ( amulets that produced in large quantities )
No more BAWAH GERTOK  ! ( refer to amulets obtained from Hatyai under bridge amulet dealers / shops ).

Just leave me and my post alone okay......... no comments are required, no justification is needed and not even a professional verification for authenticity. No ! No ! NO !

If you don't like or if you think this is a tossing-up or making-up sharing @ story. Make you wise decision then. Frankly, you don't even have to browse nor read by blog post as a popular catchphrase says....... no mater how or what the haters gonna hate ! By the way, for your information. I'm not earning and making my living via my blog and its blogposts ! Sharing per se and not because of dollars and cents ! Thank You !

Back to the main focus. What had happened to the TWIN and why now only ONE ? The one that taken by my sister was brought back to Jalan Tas 3, Taman Tas, Kuantan. My elder sister placed the 2nd piece phakhawan on Than Nadam’s lap.
The in-depth story………. my sister house in Taman Tas, Jalan Gambang, Kuantan used to be a pit-stop by Than Noon from Wat Ariyakiri, late Phor Luang Kling and late Maha of Samnak Song Pak Van Chor, Kampung Cina, Kusial Kelantan. My sister dedicated the middle room as the Bucha Room and whenever they passed by Kuantan or having ceremony in Wat Sungai Soi, Kuantan. They will stop by and stay at my sister house for a couple of days.
In early 90's, after getting a job in Bank Of Commerce in Jalan Teluk Sisek, Kuantan. I found out that the phakhawan was not there. When asked, my sister said that the phakhawan was GIVEN to Phor Luang Kling because Phor Luang Kling ASKED for it. Phor Luang Kling EXCHANGED it with another piece of pidta. I’m speechless and when Than Noon knew about it, he’s pissed off hahahahaha !
Both of TWIN-BROTHER bit worn-out, due to the harsh storage in zipped  KUTANG @ Inner Wear.  My late aunt will sip and keep @ wear all her phra kreung and kreung lang in her Kutang whenever she venture out her residence.
Kutang's Photo - credit to the owner
Besides the harsh storage in zipped  KUTANG @ Inner Wear.  My late aunt will mum the phakhawam whenever she encounter some dangerous situation @ enemies. My late aunt used to share her experience when she was threatened by parang-wielding Malay man because of the debt - DUIT KUTU - "Kutu funds" are an informal and traditional funding and saving schemes. She went to the Malay's man house to collect the KUTU payment but his wife refused to settle the payment and when the husband knew bout that he went to confront my late aunt and before meeting the man my aunt said she sought Than Kong help and  mum the phakhawan. The parang wielding man could not harm her, only pointed the parang from afar and finally his anger was subdued and he went home straight away.
I used to ask my late aunt. Actually, which Phra Kreung @ Kreung Lang that so powerful and enable her to subdue the anger of parang-wielding man ? Teach me please ! My late aunt said ...............
"Wa Bo Ilmu Thee. Wa Yakin Yah. Lan Tiok Yakin...... Cho Hamik Pun, Tiok Yakin. Bo Kiro, Kua' Hamik Pun. Phut Than Talok Pun. Phut Hamik Pun. Kalu Bo Yakin, Kua' Phut Chor Tua Cha Balok Pun Bo Nyiong !"

Hahahahahaha, kindly ask your Kelantanese buddy to translate. It's Kelantanese Hokkien dialect. Got to go, bye !

Composing ends on 29 March  2022.
