"MICHAEL JACKSON" or "KHAN TUAR" ?
Phra Pidnar ( closing the face ) @ Phra Pidtar ( closing the eyes ) is one of the most distinguished and recognizable images of the amulet family which featuring a monk sitting down in a half or full lotus position with both of his hands covering his face @ eyes.
The literal translation of "Pidnar" @ "Pidtar" means closed the face or eyes and these postures are said to make one impervious to surrounding evil by blocking out external influences and distractions, enabling one to focus on the task in hand.
There are various depictions of the images with some featuring up to eight arms. The piece signifies the closure of the six senses where ultimate focus and peace can be attained. Phra Pidta is very popular votive tablet both in Thailand and around the world with many top prominent Thai monks producing their own versions @ designs of Phra Pidta.
