Phor Than Kong's Betel Leaves Wichah / Withi
Betel Leaves
The Piper Betle ( Betel )
is the leaf of a vine belonging to the Piperaceae family. The betel leaf is known as Taambuul or Nagavalli
in Sanskrit, PlueThai, Daun SirihMalay
language andPin-lang in Chinese. It is valued both as a mild stimulant and for
its medicinal properties. The betel plant is an evergreen and perennial
creeper, with glossy heart-shaped leaves and white catkin.
In
India, Burma, Nepal, Sri Lanka and other parts of South Asia, as well as
South East Asia, the leaves of Piper betle are chewed together in a wrapped
package along with the areca
nut (which, by association, is often called the "betel
nut") and mineral slaked lime (calcium hydroxide). The lime acts to keep
the active ingredient in its freebase or alkaline form, thus enabling it to
enter the bloodstream via sublingual absorption. The areca nut contains the
alkaloid arecoline, which promotes salivation (the saliva is stained red), and
is itself a stimulant. This combination, known as a "betel quid", has
been used for several thousand years. Tobacco is sometimes added.
Piper Betle is popularly used in traditional medicine as it
possesses antioxidant, antibacterial, antifungal, antidiabetic and
radioprotective activities (Wirotesangthong et al., 2007). The betel
leaf is used in a number of traditional remedies for the treatment of stomach
ailments, infections, and as a general tonic. It is often chewed in combination
with the betel nut (Areca catechu), as a stimulatory. Some evidence
suggests that betel leaves have immune boosting properties as well as
anti-cancer properties.
There are various
types of Betel
Leaves (Piper betle). In Malaysia, there are several types of Betel
Leaves; ‘Sirih Melayu’, ‘Sirih Keling’, ‘Sirih
Cina’ and ‘Sirih Hutan’.
Regardless the various types of betel leaves, regardless of its traditional
remedies, the topic that I would like to share or discuss here is about the
usage of this betel leaf according to its WICHAH POWER.
Whether we realize or not
most of the top and famous guru monks used to chew the betel leaves. Some gurus
are using their chewed betel leaves as
one of the sacred ingredients in making their sacred amulets. Some of the ‘Chan Mark’ – chewed betel leaves were
used to make votive tablet and the famous amulet using ‘Chan
Mark’ as its main material is ‘Look
Om’.
Below are some of the
example of Phor Than Kong’s sacred amulets using their ‘Chan Mark’.

The discussion to be shared
here are some of the examples of BETEL LEAVES WICHAH POWER according to the THAI WICHAH by late Phor
Than Kong ( Tok Raja @ Khron Ratchanaren ), late Phor Mor Keaw and Phor Mor
Chau Nan.
This charmed betel leaf is
used to discard / expel the influenced of black magic. This charmed betel leaf
is used to cure the cursed ( entered through oral / eaten ). This kind of spell
normally was mixed with the foods and then given to the targeted person to be
eaten.
According to my grandpa,
this kind of curse is the most difficult spell / curse to be solved. As Phor
Than Kong always advises my grandpa……..
“ Tham Alai Khor Dai, Len Alai Khor Dai, Khor… Kin, Au Ra
Wang. Ra Wang Kin Nah“
Taking Namman prai for an instance,
it’s not easy to cure the person who suffered from namman prai influenced especially
for those who had eaten / swallowed the namman prai’s dip / drop that’s added /
mixed with our food. This charmed betel leaf according to Phor Than Kong is
able to cure people who suffered from such oral cursed.
Specific khatas need to be
chanted to ‘plug’ this betel leaf.
The cursed person have to chew this betel leaf and swallow its chewed juice,
twice daily for 3 continuous days. According to my grandpa, this charmed betel
leaf will ‘tawar’ and ‘mati’ ( neutralized and discard ) the
spelled. My grandpa added that, if the person suffered from a heavy / strong
spelled, the spelled person will experience a mild dizziness and might cause
vomiting and diarrhea. Some will experience the coughing and produces the
blackish or reddish catarrh.

This charmed betel leaf is
used to shield a person body from spiritual attacks – especially black magic.
Those days, Phor Than Kong used to use this charmed betel leaf to protect
himself from black magic / spell by putting this charmed betel under his pillow
for 3 continuous nights before changing it to the new betel leaf on the fourth
day.
By chanting and reciting
the specific khatas, this chanted betel leaf with khata akhom written on it, is
a superb tool to be used to protect us from spiritual attacks. My grandpa said
that, black magic – including love spell was sent to the targeted person during
late night to wee hours. The sorcerer will perform the ritual during these
times, especially from 1.00am to 5.00 am. It’s a most suitable times to perform
and send the spell as it’s believed that as we’re fall asleep and our soul is ‘wandering’ from our body and that makes
we unaware about the spell.
Below is an example of a simple
candle spell to curse ones enemies. It’s call ‘Sai Thian Chim Pee’ spell. The
targeted person’s name is inscribed on the center of the charmed paper and to
be tied to the special blended and prepared ‘thian’
– candle.
The candle then is lit and a spell / curse khata akhom are recite until
the candle is burnt out. On the next morning, the melted and remaining of the
wax of the candle will be given to the dog to be eaten. While feeding the dog,
tap the dog mouth with your hand for 3 times and say……..
“ Akh, Akh, Akh”
“Tha Maa, Phut Mai Dai, Khor Hai Men Peng Nyang Rai Therd“
This will make your enemies
“Jang Ngang” and stumbled upon seeing
your and unable to open his / her mouth to speak or to utter a word against
you. This spell also can be used to make
one loves / fall in love with you, tighten the broken relationship and make
your messy and bossy bosses to love you. The differs khatas needed to be
chanted in order to make this wichah works according to our wishes.

This version of charmed
betel leaf is used by late Phor Than Kong to help ones to ‘seal’ – shield one’s
body from spiritual attacks – black magic. This is a superb charmed of
preventing and shielding one’s body. This ‘Khan
Tuar Plue’ – Self shielding betel leaf, need to be chewed daily for 7
continuous nights. Starting on the person birth’s day ( until the next day before your birth’s day -
If you are born on Saturday, so you need to begin on that particular Saturday’s
night and ended on next Friday’ night ). According to my grandpa once chewed, this
charmed betel leaf effects can long lasting for almost 6 months to a year.
Depend on the person spiritual level and if you have taken / eaten the spell
orally then this betel leaf charmed won’t be able to protect you anymore. As Phor
Than Kong says……. ‘Ra Wang Kin’
My grandpa told me that,
Phor Than Kong used to use this charmed betel leaf to ‘Khan Tuar’ himself before performing any healing ritual and
processes associate with black magic / spelled / curse people. This is because,
the cursed and spelled can easily ‘transfer’ from the affected person to the
healer. That’s why we are advised and not encouraged to heal person who suffers
from the black magic – except we are a qualified spiritual healer. My grandpa
added that, the effect of this ‘transferred’ curse and spell are beyond our
expectation and in many occasion it would be a ‘double effect’ and could be
fatal. FYI, this charmed betel leaf for ‘shielding’ purposes is only one of the
‘shielding methods’ used by Phor Than Kong and my grandpa to ‘Khan Tuar’ themselves.

This is another version of ‘Mark Plue Withi’ for charming purposes. This charmed of ‘Mark Plue’ will be chanted with
specific khatas. There are two various ways of using this of ‘Mark Plue’. The first
charming spell is, this ‘Mark Plue’ to be rolled as tobacco leaf – ‘daun rokok’ and to be dried under the hot
sun for several days. This rolled betel leaf is then to be used as cigar and
the smoke from the dried rolled betel leaf then need to be blew onto the
targeted person face. The person who inhales this charmed smoke will fall in love with you and misses so much.
The second method of
charming spell via this charmed betel leaf is this ‘Mark Plue’ leaf will be
exposed under the hot sun to be dried. The dried betel leaf will be pounded
into a coarse powder and given to the targeted person orally. This love charm
will make your target fall in love crazily upon you and would not be able to
leave you.

The last version of charmed
betel leaf to be discussed is the charmed betel leaf for preventing thief and
break in. This charmed betel leaf needs to be prepared in 6 pieces. Two of
these charmed betel leaves need to be hung
on the top of the main and back doors frame ( inside frame ). These betel
leaves to be hung up side down and the other 4 leaves will be placed on the top 4 corners / directions of the house.
By reciting the specific
khatas and seeking permission from your house guidance / deities, your house /
premises will be sealed and the burglar’s intention will be distracted from
your house. ( perhaps to another house / premises around ). If the thief or
burglar still successfully to force in, he would not be able to find his way
out. My grandpa used to share one great story of this charmed betel leaf.
There’s a grocer in
Kampung Lubuk Stong, he came to meet my grandpa because his grocery shop has
been broke into for several times. He went to meet my grandpa and my grandpa
prepared the charmed betel leaves and taught him to place the leaves as needed.
After 2 months, his grocery again been targeted and the burglar forced into his
grocery shop while he’s away for several days because of Chinese New Year
holidays. When he had returned home, he just then realized that his grocery was
broke in. He entered his grocery shop through the front door ( double story
shop lot ) and found one man laying exhausted and motionlessly in between the goods
racks. The man bows and begs to the grocer to show him the way out, not to
report to the police and promised him not to commit such a crime again.
After been caught and
sent to the nearest police station, this unfortunate burglar said that, he walked
for several days to find his way out from but failed. He only saw a white thick
fog and several big trees with big leaves covered his way out. He felt
exhausted and gave up then resting himself under a big shady tree.

BEAR IN MIND………. those KHATA AKHOM LETTERS were INCOMPLETED and there’s a SPECIFIC KHATA
AKHOM to be used to ‘PLUG SAEG’ those BETEL LEAVES – to ACTIVATE the BETEL
LEAVES before USING IT. SIMPLY WRITING those KHATA AKHOM LETTERS PER SE, would
not ABLE to GIVE ANY EXPECTED RESULT as I
MENTIONED / DISCUSSED above.
DIFFERS GURU MONKS and ACHAN MIGHT USE the DIFFERS
METHOD of HEALING and CURING the BLACK MAGIC. ALTHOUGH THEY are USING the BETEL LEAF as
THEIR MEDIUM but the WICHAH SCIENCES might VARIES.
If person A asks for 11 or 21 betel leaves from person B. And person A keeps these leaves. Can this person A use these leaves to do a black magic on person B because person B donated or gave them using his/her hands on a marriage occasion ?
