Below article was extracted from the essay entitled "Jampi Siam Lawan Jampi Melayu". The essay was written by Dr. Muhammed Yusoff Ismail, an expert in Buddhisme. 

"..............Istilah Tok Ca ialah istilah tidak formal yang biasa digunakan oleh orang Melayu untuk merujuk golongan bikkhu. Selain tok ca, istilah `Tok Raja’ juga digunakan di Kelantan ( Selatan Thai termasuk Terengganu ). `Tok Raja’ merupakan terjemahan daripada perkataan Phra. Istilah phra digunakan dengan meluas oleh orang Siam untuk merujuk kepada bikkhu.

Selain Tok Ca atau `Tok Raja' sebagai ganti nama kedua kepada bikkhu. Orang Siam juga biasanya menggunakan istilah Phor Luang, Than atau Khun kepada bikkhu bergantung kepada kedudukan mereka dalam hierarki Sangha dan kelulusan dari segi tahap pengajian agama (gred Barian, `nak tham’ 1 hingga 3)........".

Dari manakah asal usul Besi PA ?
Apakah ramuan Besi PA ?
Apakah khasiat mistik Besi PA ?
Bagaimanakah ia ditempa ? 

Merupakan soalan-soalan yang menghujani pemikiran Peminat Barangan Mistik apabila membicara tentang Rahsia Keampuhan Besi PA.

Gambar yang tertera pada sebelah kanan merupakan antara koleksi Senjata Pakaian yang  berada dalam simpanan saya (bukan untuk diniagakan). Dalam proses pembuatan senjata warisan Melayu terutamanya, terdapat pelbagai kaedah dan rahsia mistik yang tidak terjangkau oleh akal fikiran manusia yang biasa. Terutamanya mereka yang JAHIL tentang selok belok penempaan senjata yang menggunakan ramuan Besi ‘PA”.

Perkongsian saya ini adalah satu perkongsian ilmu dan bukannya perkongsian berdasarkan nawaitu untuk menunjuk-nunjuk mahupun mendabik dada. Perkongsian ilmu dan pengetahuan yang cetek tentang Besi ‘PA’ ini tidak lain tidak bukan hanyalah sebagai perkongsian Asimilasi Budaya atau "Cross Custom & Belief" ( untuk insan-insan beragama Buddha yang SATTA – yakin akan khasiat ampuh Besi ‘PA’ )

Dalam dunia penempaan senjata Melayu yang tidak terungkai dengan akal fikiran manusia yang cetek, kedapatan satu kaedah penempaan senjata unik yang menggunakan adunan ramuan besi (alatan purba – lama ) yang namanya  bermula dengan sebutan ‘PA’ ( sebutan huruf jawi ‘pa’ ) dan yang mengalami PATAH ALAMI – yakni patah secara semula jadi ataupun patah disebabkan oleh penggunaan secara semulajadi dan bukannya PATAH yang disengajakan.

Antaran peralatan  ‘PA’ yang dipilih dan diadun untuk menghasilkan Besi ‘PA’ ialah;

Besi-besi yang PATAH ALAMI ini amat sukar untuk diperolehi. Kadang kala seseorang itu terpaksa mengambil masa puluhan tahun untuk mengumpul kesemua besi PA tersebut. Besi-besi PA tersebut diadun dan ditempa mengikut kaedah dan rahsia tertentu agar memperoleh manfaat untuk PEMAKAIAN. Nilai senjata yang ditempa dan dihasilkan dari besi ‘PA’ ini amat tinggi nilai mistiknya.

Gabungan besi-besi PA ini dipercayai mempunyai kelebihan dan keampuhan mistik yang tersendiri. Keampuhan besi PA ini dikatakan akan bertambah ampuh sekiranya diperolehi daripada beberapa SYARAT yang SUKAR. Sebagai contoh;

Formula 7 x 7 yakni daripada 7 jenis PA, daripada 7 pemilik yang berasal dari 7 kawasan, 7 daerah, dan 7 negeri, yang ditempa secara 7 lipatan dalam masa 7 hari atau 7  Sabtu oleh 7 tukang besi.

Mengapakah mesti 7, 11  atau 13 PA ? Sesungguhnya ia amat bergantung kepada penempa dan pemilik. Adunan Pamor PA ini diadun mengikut cita rasa pemilik. Ia tidak semestinya 7 atau 11 PA. Terdapat juga senjata berpamorkan besi PA yang hanya diadun dengan besi-besi 5 PA namun khasiatnya tetap ampuh. Sebagaimana yang saya nyatakan tadi. SATTA – Yakin dan Percaya ! Walhal besi 3 PA pun sekiranya kita yakin bahawa IA ialah OBJEK PERANTARAAN ( Sudut pandangan mereka yang bukan beragama Islam sahaja )yang dicipta dengan kelebihan mempunyai dan membawa khasiat maka berkhasiatlah ia. ( dengan izin Tuhan / Pencipta / Buddha – mengikut ajaran dan pegangan masing-masing of course ! )

Mengikut petua orang tua-tua zaman dahulu kala, jenis besi yang ampuh untuk dijadikan SENJATA PEMAKAIAN seAFDALnya ditempa daripada besi ‘PA'. Hal ini diceritakan sedemikian kerana senjata menggunakan PA' mampu memberikan kelebihan / keampuahan mistik kepada sipemakai yakni,

·   perbomohan,
·    membangkitkan semangat kepahlawanan,
·    kelebihan kebal kulit dan kebal semerta,
·    melemahkan semangat musuh,
·    penghalimunan dan pelilau,
·    dijadikan medium untuk berhubung dengan alam ghaib
·    memagar kawasan rumah daripada niat jahat, 

Proses penempaan pamor besi PA ini bukanlah sesuatu yang boleh dipandang enteng. Antara teknik yang perlu dikuasai oleh seseorang tukang ialah teknik lipatan. Besi yang dibakar akan ditempa ( diketuk ) menjadi satu kepingan yang panjang ( +- saiz pembaris ) dan kemudiannya dipotong kepada dua bahagian. 2 Potongan tersebut akan ditindih ( disusun bertingkat ) yang kemudiannya akan dibakar dan digandingkan @ ketuk semula sehingga kedua-dua lipatan itu sebati ( melekat dan menjadi satu keping. Proses mengetuk, memotong dan melipat ini akan dilakukan secara berterusan sehingga memperoleh jumlah lipatan besi yang berganda dan seterusnya menghasilkan permukaan besi yang berPAMOR yakni corak lapisan besi daripada proses pemotongan dan penitindihan secara berterusan dan berulang-ulang kali. Contoh kiraan lapisan pamor yang biasa ditempa adalah seperti berikut;

Lipatan 1 = 2 lapis lipatan besi
Lipatan 2 = 4 lapis lipatan besi
Lipatan 3 = 8 lapis lipatan besi
Lipatan 4 = 16 lapis lipatan besi
Lipatan 5 = 32 lapis lipatan besi

Gambar contoh di atas ialah badik campuran besi 3 PA yang tidak melibatkan lipatan besi. Badik 3 PA ini ditempa daripada 3 jenis besi PA yakni, Mata Keris Patah, Berel Senapang Patah dan Puting Tombak Purba Patah. Dapat dilihat dengan jelas pada hujung mata badik yang disambung / tampal dengan mata keris patah alami. Manakala pendokok pula dibuat daripada barel / muncung senapang asak yang pecah / retak.

Rahsia mistik Besi PA ini bukan sahaja dikuasai dan diamalkan oleh golongan masyarakat Melalyu lama malah rahsia gabungan Besi PA ini juga diguna pakai oleh warga-warga Siam.  Para Kaechik Achan dan Sami-sami Buddha juga mengguna pakai rahsia pembuatan / penempaan Besi PA ini dalam proses pembuatan Azimat yang ampuh - Phra Kreung atau Kreung Lang !

Kebanyakan Para Kaechik Achan menggunakan pelbagai Besi PA semasa mengadun Azimat. Antara Besi PA mengikut kaedah Bijak Pandai Besi Siam adalah seperti;

- Naiphan Tai Taeg ( Mata Tenggala Pecah / Patah )
- Pern Taeg ( Pistol / Senapang Pecah )
- Rakang Taeg ( Loceng Purba Pecah )
- Bard Taeg ( Arm Bowl @ Besi Bard Pecah )
- Far Bard Taeg ( Tudung Bard Pecah )
- Takrut Khat / Taeg ( Tangkai lama yang pecah @ patah )
-  dan lain-lain

Menurut mendiang Phor Luang Keaw, keampuhan Besi PA bukan sahaja terletak pada adunan pelbagai PA malah ia juga bergantung kepada KEYAKINAN dan AMALAN yang   dipegang oleh pemakai Besi PA. 

"Gunolah Besi 108 PA sekalipun, kalu dok lekat patae ( tidak ikut pantang larang ), dok jadi gor satu jugok ( tak menjadi juga )"

Sayogia diingatkan bahawa Besi PA hanyalah OBJEK PERANTARAAN ( Sudut pandangan mereka yang bukan beragama Islam sahaja ) yang tidak membawa sebarang kuasa mistik sekiranya si pemakai gagal mengikut atau mengamalkan pantang larang ( Do's and Dont's ). Sebagai intiha;

ii )  Patamokkha Sila
iii)  Indriyasamvara Sila
iv)  Ajivaparisuddhi Sila
v)   Paccayasanuissita Sila

Akhirukalam, Besi PA yang penuh kuasa mistik tadi tiada bezanya dengan besi gril, besi penutup longkang atau besi turus pagar rumah sekiranya kita gagal mengamalkan ( Do's and Dont's ) yang diletakkan, dipersetujui, dan yang dimenterai.

Sharing another rare collection of mine, Kradat Yant Mae Nang Khuat of Wat Ariyakiri, Pauh Lima. This Mae Nang Khuat Yant was made and inscribed on the WHITE GLOSSY PAPER ( Paper taken from the vintage calendar )

These Phra Chao Sip Hok Yants from Kradat Yant Mae Nang Khuat are the Trade Mark of the Yants from of Wat Ariyakiri, Pauh Lima. These 2 different types of Phra Chao Sip Hok are widely used by present Wat Ariyakiri Chao Awat - Than Noon.

Just for sharing purposes.......bear in mind that, the feature Than Lek Potrait Yant with Yant Phra Chao Sip Hok on the reverse side was inscribed wrongly. I dunno whether Than Noon aware of this mistake or not. Perhaps the person in-charge to produce this yant do not know or perhaps do not aware of the mistake made before sending it to the printer. If you observe closely, the second line of the KHOM  syllable was written wrongly, instead of (NOR GOR NAK GAK) syllable was inscribed wrongly as (NOR GOR NOR GAK) syllable. As for me this yant should be deterred to be reprinted and distributed. I'm saying this because, I'm personally believe that the yant was incomplete and the power embedded within the yant was NULL  and  VOID !

Phra Pidnar Bhagawan Bai Pho by late Than Kong @ Khron Ratchanaren

 Sharing another little humble collection of mine. Phra Pidnar Bhagawan Bai Pho ( Bai Boddhi - with the shape of Boddhi leaf ) by our late Than Kong @ Khron Ratchanaren of Wat Uttamaram, Teresek, Repek Pasir Mas Kelantan.

This Phim is extremely rare and 100% hand made by our late Than Kong. According to Phor Luang Keaw ( Mor Keaw ) this Phra Pidnar Bhagawan Bai Pho was made in limited numbers ( as far as Phor Luang concern - only 3 or 5 pieces ) and only given to the close disciples especially Phor Mor. 

FYI, this Phra Pidnar Bhagawan Bai Pho is actually  Phra Roobmeurn Than Kong Song Nar, Khang Lang Phra Pidnar Bhagawan - Phra Roobmeurn Song Nar ( double sided ) Khang Lang Phra Pidnar ( reverse side ) with Phra Pidta effigy. 

The FRONT VIEW of  the amulet is featuring the half effigy of our late Than Kong with the Chivorn Hnar ( thick robes ) and not Phra Pidnar.  The feature Phra Song Nar was fully coated with the original Janrak / Black Rengas latex - tapped from the Rengas tree planted by late Than Kong. Now the Rengas tree location was cleared. The tree was chopped down after the tree had been struck by the lightning and the wood is used to make the Maithaw Mahathera by Than Boon. Now the site is occupied with the gigantic Maikru Mahathera.

Do accept my sincere apologies as I could not share Than Kong's Roobmeurn Figurine openly here. Phor Luang Keaw used to advise me not to show / share this Song Nar openly as they might imitate / copy it to produce the fake / imitate version of this Phra Song Nar to scam / con naïve collectors.

The amazing thing about this phim song nar is the weight. Although the phim is in XX size and the neur is completely  harden  and almost fossilised but the feature phra kreung is very light, amazing NEUR !

The feature photo on the left shows the perfect craftsmanship by our late Than Kong with the rough penknife marks and amazing fossilised NEUR ( composition of the materials ). The rough surface of the amulet shows the dried coated Janrak / Black Rengas latex. Besides coated with Janrak, Phor Luang Keaw added that Than Kong used the latex from BUNGA MELUR @ MELATI ( Jasmine) to rub his pidnar. Acording to Than Kong, the latex from Jasmine bud will protect and harden the neur. That is why most of the Than Kong pidnar surfaces are rough and fossilised  !

I used to see Phor Luang Keaw dipped this Song Nar into the PERIUK TEMBAGA ( Bronze cooking pot ) and BATIL ( Kelantanese dialek for batd namboon ) while performing ritual to make namboon ( holy water ).

When asked why have to dip the Song Nar into the water while preparing the namboon ? Phor Luang Keaw said that actually all Good Phra Kreung ( made of Neur Wanj ) can be used / dipped into the namboon. IF, if only we know how to use / dip. Otherwise, we will destroy / damage the neur. This is because, the  AURA of the amulet been used as a medium in consecrating the water from negative to positive energy. AURA is a field of subtle, luminous radiation surrounding a person or object like the HALO. 

 It is said that all objects and all living things manifest such an aura. The claim by Phor Luang Keaw is parallel with Emoto Masaru, a Japanese author, researcher and entrepreneur, who claimed that human consciousness has an effect on the molecular structure of water. Emoto Masaru beliefs that water could react to positive thoughts and words, and that polluted water could be cleaned through prayer and positive visualization. Since 1999, Emoto published several volumes of a work entitled Messages from Water, which contain photographs of ice crystals and his experiments.

According to him, positive and negative thinking have a major impact on the surrounding environment. That concept is relatively easy to grasp, but this extremely tangible evidence of it is astounding.  ( Water, Namboon and Prayer will be discussed in-depth ).

Back to the Song Nar discussion. Another amazing thing about this Phim Song Nar is, the special  10, 4 and 2 Syllables Khatas.  According to Phor Luang Keaw, while giving away this Song Nar, Than Kong will teach the 10, 4 and 2 Syllables Khata. The khatas  were originally taught ( shared ) to Than Kong by a high rank notorious gangster leader from Thailand. The ex-gangster leader met Than Kong and requested for an ordination. A prior agreement before being ordained, the gangster leader shared his past SINS ( activities ) and how he committed crimes and violence.

The gangster head bowed and made the 5-point-prostration before handling  over his amulet ( Phra Ruang Ranpheung @ Phra Leela - made of lead - hung around his neck ) and put inside the Batd ( arm bowl ) before him. The conversation between the gangster leader and Than Kong goes on and nobody knows the real issues / contents of the conversation.

Phor Luang Keaw said, the gangster leader shared ( taught ) Than Kong the 10, 4 and 2-syllable khatas that he used  while committing crimes. The khatas should be recited in unique ways - THOI LANG ( reverse ways ). The feature khatas couldn't be shared here, not even the 1st syllable. The example of the recitation is as such......

1, 10, 2, 9, 3, 8, 4, 7, 5 and 6

6, 5, 7, 4, 8, 3, 9, 2, 10, and 1

1, 4, 2 and 3

3, 2, 4 and 1

1, and 2

2, and 1

The khata was once used by Bang Rajan fighters during their battlefield.  According to Phor Luang Keaw, Bang Rajan's leader will recite the khatas while their followers were marching at his back. After reciting the khatas, Bang Rajan's leader will point  his sword toward the enemies before commanding them to fight by shouting the last two syllables khatas !

The recited khatas will protect the whole troops ( gang members ) and they will fight fearlessly ! Phor Luang Keaw added that, the khatas also will help to SHIELD - protect ( Khamphaeng Qaew Jet Chan - 7 diamond shields - the powerful light flare from the body ) the leader and whole troops from voodoo, sharp objects, bullets and will make them invisible before enemies eyes - Gambang Ton !

Sharing another rare collection of mine - Than Kong's Pla Phayun Bone ( Dugong @ SeaCow ) of Phra Pidta Bhagawan Maha Ud and Phra Yod Khun Pon with Mae Nang Khuat ( reverse side ). These  Phra Pidta Bhagawan Maha Ud and Phra Yod Khun Pon were fully handcrafted by our great Than Kong @ Tok Raja.

These VVHTF and rare batch of Phra Kreung @ Kreung Lang were made in limited numbers and only given out to the high rank devotees. ( Thais High Rank Officer and  including arm forces ).

These 2 pieces were obtained from 2 differ persons. The Yod Khun Pon was given to me by late Phor Mor Keaw and the Pidta Bhagawan Maha Ud was obtained from late Na Chau Thong's foster grandson in Tumpat.

Friends of mine, refuse to accept these 2 pieces as Than Kong's creation. They said that they never heard and seen these types of amulets before. They added that these types of CRAP and RUBBISH can be obtained easily from Hatyai, under bridge scam amulets market. Anyone ????

Another buddy added that, perhaps Than Kong or someone brought back the amulets or crafted the amulets and requested it to be re-blessed by late Than Kong before distributing it to the devotees. Anyone ????

Another friend of mine said that he used to come across the photos ( Pidta ) from other website claiming that the Pidta which was made of Dugong's bone and claimed to be handcrafted by our  late Khron Rachanaren. Anyone ????

Others claimed that the crafted image is not Phra Yod Khun Pon but Buddha instead. My answer to them was ........

"Phra Yod Khun Pon is  actually a Buddha figurine of preaching Abhidhamma in Tavatimsa Heaven. Sometimes, Yod Khun Pon also shows the posture of Great Buddha descending from Tavatimsa Heaven. That is why Phra Yod Khun Pon is depicted in 2 different postures -  sitting and standing"

Hahahahaha, so Phra Yod Khun Pon is Buddha. Only depicted in different  postures. The story about Phra Yod Khun Pon will be discussed in depth in the next blog posting.  Wait ya.................

DUGONG or DUYUNG ?

Dugong in Tagalog (a language spoken in the Philippines) means "lady of the sea."   The name refers to the fact that dugongs were the inspiration for mermaid legends among sailors in the age of exploration.  

The shape of the dugong, as sighted from a ship, may be mistaken for the outline of a human with a dolphin tail, while (allegedly) the female dugong keeps her head above water while giving birth, emitting high pitched sounds which may have been interpreted by sailors as mermaids singing.   A mermaid is a legendary aquatic creature with the head and upper body of a female human and the tail of a fish. Mermaids appear in the folklore of many cultures worldwide, including the Near East, Europe, Africa and Asia.

Mermaids are sometimes associated with perilous events such as floods, storms, shipwrecks and drownings. In other folk traditions (or sometimes within the same tradition), they can be benevolent or beneficent, bestowing boons or falling in love with humans. 

In Malay folklore, custom and belief, the word 'dugong' is normally referring to 'duyung' or 'ikan duyung' but there is ongoing discussion / argument regarding the DUGONG and DUYUNG. They claimed that DUGONG is not DUYUNG and vice versa. DUGONG and DUYUNG are two different ENTITIES.

As for me, I'm firmly believe that Dugong and Duyung are two different entities. Dugong's name  perhaps derives from the Ikan Duyung @ Mermaid. Perhaps Ikan Duyung expect out there wanna share / clarify on this ?????

These 2 pieces of  hand crafted Nang Khuat are a good example of great craftmanship by our late Than Kong. The final works @ the design of the both amulets are superb and parallel with the fine craftsmanship.

The design of the hair-loop, squatting position, left hands position and the base for example, we can see clearly that the 5 loops of the hair, the sitting / squatting posture and the base are crafted by the same craftsman.

Personal experience of USING these Dugong's Bone Pidta Bhagawan Maha Ud & Phra Yod Khun Pon, these 2 pieces of  Phra Kreung are endowed with a supeb power of Metta Endu and Maha Amnaj.

There is a specific khatas for these Pidta Bhagawan Maha Ud & Phra Yod Khun Pon. Before wearing, you have to recite the khata and TOUCH your Hard Palate ( lelangit ) by using your right hand thumb and apply it ( Saliva ) onto the amulet or apply it onto your eyebrows. The khata read as below;
