I'm naive, I'm still learning..........
Putthajayamangkala @ Pahung @ Tawai Pon
Phra 8 Bot's Khata.
The 8 Verses
on Wholesome Victories
Khata Pahung @
Phutthajayamangkala widely known as The Eight Verses on Wholesome Victories derived from the Book of Protection (Paritta
Sutta) from the Pali Canon -- the standard collection of scriptures in the
Theravada Buddhist tradition, as preserved in the Pāli language. The Jayamangala Gatha is a
chant recommended by the Buddha to destroy negativity and to generate
auspiciousness. It is said that these verses if chanted with a clear and pure
intention are helpful in protecting the seeker by attracting the good vibes around.
Jayamangala Gatha a.k.a Pahung
I am sure that many of
us familiar with this Jayamangala Gatha a.k.a Pahung Khata. It will be chanted
by guru monk in many and most religious ceremonies. In some occasions, phra
keichi achan will give / teach us this khata to be used / chanted for certain
purposes or may be while using / hanging our amulets. Phra Keichi Achan will
teach us to recite these “Pak Mak Nak Uk Ka Sak Nan
Duk” verses but most of us will not
aware about these 8 abbreviation khatas actually are the acronym of Khata
Pahung @ Phutthajayamangkala or widely known as The Eight Verses on Wholesome
Victories.
“Pak Mak Nak Uk Ka Sak Nan Duk”
Or…
“Uk Ka Sak, Uk Ka Sak”
Late Than Dee of Wat Bukit Tanah @ Wat Mai Suwankiri used to teach these “Pak Mak Nak Uk Ka Sak Nan Duk” and “Uk Ka Sak, Uk Ka Sak” abbreviation to devotees as khata for khakaidee & pokasap. Late Than Dee used to teach me this great abbreviation as khata for all rounder safety while you are travelling via land vehicles in your daily life. For example;
- before opening your vehicle door, hold your vehicle door handle and recite Nakmo Tassa Bhagavato Arahanto Samma Sammbhudassa 3X, follow by 3X of Pak Mak Nak Uk Ka Sak Nan Duk and end with Phutthang, Thammang, Sangkhang Saraknang Gachamik and open your vehicle door .....
- after starting your vehicle engine, close your vehicle door ( all doors are closed is preferable ), hold your steering wheel, take a deep breathe and recite 3X of these Pak Mak Nak Uk Ka Sak Nan Duk and end with this phrases Khor Haiy Okh Pai Ubathihead before blowing it onto your wheel ( in one breathe ).
- If you are using a bike, hold and blow it onto your handle bar.
I'm not an expert. Dun believe me blindly. Kindly consult keichi achan@ guru monk @ expert before reciting these abbreviation. Recite at your own risk. Merely sharing of thought !

Real life experienced o2……….
Friend of mine used to ask me for a good khata that can be
used for all occasions and purposes - all rounder khata. I just introduced to
him to Phra 8 Bot abbreviation; Pak Mak
Nak Uk Ka Sak Nan Duk and asked him to recite these Phra 8 Bot abbreviation on daily
basis.
Few days after, he said to me that, he needed another powerful
khata for 小人
as these 8 acronym khatas from Pahung verses does not work as claimed. He
recites the khata but yet the result is negative – can’t see the result or feel
the power. He claimed that Pahung khata is just as normal & ordinary as any
Paritta Chanting verses in our Tipitaka / Tripitaka and definitely not for 小人 – smiting the enemy.
My answer to him are …….… before reciting the acronym /
abbreviation type of khatas, you will have to study and understand the real
meaning of the original @ long version of the verses. Bear in mind that, without
in-depth understanding and faith on the verses, you won’t get immediate @ real
power from the acronym version. The comparison……..even “I Love You” phrase, it will be just an utter rubbish if ones don’t
have faith and doesn’t know the real meaning of it. We just don’t go around and
spit out “I Love You” to everybody in every
occasion right ? Unless you know the real meaning and you meant it when you say
so !
The real life story sharing ……….when I was in Kuantan in early
1993. I used to consult Than Noon regarding this 小人 – smiting the
enemy thingy and consulting Than Noon on Wicha Look Chang ( a saiyasat manual containing various ELRPHANT SPELLS - metta, saneh, pokasap and including smiting the enemy ). Than noon said that, his guru ( the owner of the wicha manual is still around and his guru reminded him not to teach or expose the wicha to others ).
One of the Look Chang's spells.
( binding the couple and not the one to smite enemy and not from Than Noon )

Back to the discussion.......Than Noon smiled and said. It’s simple, you no need Look Chang Wicha to smite / overpower the enemy just go and ……………….
“ ........take your
enemy's photo, write his name and D.O.B including address on on a paper. Draw an image of
………. on the photo, take 7 pieces of …. can’t be shared openly…, piece the
photo, take 1 piece of ………..…….. squeeze on it and chant pahung khata for ......times. When you
are …………..… the photo inside the ……………....... Finally,…………………the photo before disposing
it in flowing stream but make sure you don’t missue the Pahung Khata to harm innocent
people !”
Don't get me wrong. Pahung is not a specific khata to smite / conquer the enemy per se. The discussion above are mainly focused on 打小人 and 冲花水. Bear in mind that, Khata Pahung @
Phutthajayamangkala is
a prominent katha, many phra keichi
achan use this great katha for many purposes and other applications and it has proven to be very effective indeed.
To cut it short, you should have FAITH and a serene trust in this Pahung Khata
! As faith and a serene trust that the practice
of the Buddha's teaching will lead to a FRUITFUL
and
WHOLESOME
VICTORIES
in life !
